Silk Screening

Original Picture

Silk Screened T-Shirt
I went sailing this summer in europe, and as we were sailing I took a picture of a piece on the boat. It was such a peaceful sail and I just enjoyed every moment of it.
I used this picture to show what I did all summer and how proud I am of this picure I took. Since we were sailing I decided to put the word "SAIL" on the shirt. I love the font and the way the boat part looks.

I started by getting a frame and stapling the silk screen tight onto it. after that I turned off the lights and put emultion on the screen. I left it to dry for about 3 days. After that I put my picture onto an acetate sheet and exposed the picture to light onto the silk screen. after that I washed it with water for about 10-15 minutes and it came out pretty nicely. I left it to dry for a day. I took the silk screen out and applied blue fabric ink to the top part of the image, and black fabric ink to the word "SAIL".  It then came out like that and I am proud of it since it is my first time ever doing silk screening.

Acrilic Gel Medium & White Paint

This picture follows my theme of nature and what I love to do when I am stressed or need to refresh my brain. I went on vacation this summer to Europe. We sailed around Croatia and Montenegro. I needed to get some exercise. When I saw a sign that said you can climb the "Kotor City Wall" I took the chance and did it. It was a wall that went to the top of a mountain. I climbed 1350 stairs and it was very tiring, but worth the relief and exersise!

I printed out my picture on a laser printer. Then I taped it down on a board with clear tape. I painted acrilic gel medium on it and then dried it with a hair dryer. I did this process 12 times so it would have enough layers. After I took the tape off and soaked my picture covered in the gel medium into warm water. I rubbed the paper off and then took it out to dry. I realized that my acrilic gel medium looked so different from the examples. I figured out that I accidently used paint on a couple of my layers. It turned out that my outcome was an acrilic gel medium with paint! I actually liked it better than what it was suppose to look like!

Photogram (Double Exposure)

Ever since I was about 5 I LOVED mountains, plants and nature! When I walk outside I breathe in th fresh air. I love taking a good glimpse of nature. Walking around in a forest is and was my way of taking a break from stress and relieving my thoughts.

This picture has a lot of meaning. I took a leaf from outside and a branch of pine needles and put it on my photogram. It didn't look like enough detail was included so I thought of doing a multiple exposure. I purpoly chose a picture of my friend when she looked calm and relaxed. I then put that picture in the leaf and it shows what I love to do when I need time alone.
